Now that school has started, we are in the midst of busy mornings, activity filled afternoons, and just rushing around pretty much everywhere. I am always searching for ways to make my life easier, as well as my readers, which is why I have put together a list of 6 Lunchbox Hacks that will make you unstoppable! I’ve received product samples for review purposes, however all opinions are my own. I am excited to share these great tips and tricks with y’all!
#1 – Prevent lunchbox apples from browning, after you cut them into slices. All you have to do for this simple trick, is slice your apple, then put it back together, and wrap a rubber band tightly around it. Alternatively, you could put the apple back together and then wrap it tightly with plastic wrap in order to keep it together and the flesh unexposed.
#2 – This is one of the easiest hacks – all you have to do is fill up your child’s water bottle the night before, then pop it into the freezer. In the morning, take it out and put into the lunchbox as usual, but now it acts as an ice pack! No need to pack an extra heavy ice pack!
#3 – Smuckers Uncrustables! These sandwiches are a LIFESAVER for me. For one, my son dislikes crust on his sandwiches, so it’s time consuming to cut off the crusts. Secondly, these are frozen, and you put them into the lunch box that way. By the time lunch rolls around, they are the perfect temperature!
#4 – DIY Fruit Leather! I love making homemade fruit leather! Not only is it much healthier, but it’s SO SO easy – you won’t believe how easy! I love to cut them in fat strips and then wrap in plastic wrap. I typically use this awesome recipe from Weelicious!
#5 – Blow up bags to avoid crushed foods! This is actually a trick I learned recently from a friend, and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before; it’s genius! If you put chips or whatever into a baggie, it’s likely the heavier things are going to crush those up…but not if you BLOW THE BAG UP before you seal it! Then, it’s puffed up with air, and that air is protecting the precious chips inside – much like mailer bubbles! Genius!

#6- Lunchbox Jokes – now, this isn’t exactly a ‘hack’, but what better way to put a smile on your child’s face at lunch?! Adding one of these super cute printable lunchbox jokes is just a fun addition to a lunchbox! I send these with my son and he reads them to his whole table, and I often have parents asking me where I get them from. So, I always point them in the direction of Kids Activities Blog, because she has a handful of great ones!
So, lets recap! Cut your apple and then wrap a rubber band to prevent browning, fill your water bottle up the night before, then freeze for a convenient lunch ice pack, homemade fruit leather, Smuckers Uncrustables for easy sandwiches, blow up those plastic bags to avoid crushed chips, and lunchbox jokes! These 6 hacks will help make you unstoppable this school year!
Speaking of unstoppable – have you seen this new video from Brad Snyder about the Paralympic Games? It is so motivating to hear his story and see how he made it so far on his athletic journey – just wow!
